04 Environmental impact
We continue to strengthen how we understand, manage and reduce our environmental impact as we scale. Our approach is grounded in credible data, science-based methodologies, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Environmental responsibility is integrated into how we operate internally and how we support clients in achieving their own environmental goals.
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals offer a global framework for tackling critical social, economic, and environmental challenges. These are the nine goals our organisation is committed to supporting and advancing through our initiatives.

Sustainability strategy
Linesight continues to make progress in minimising our impact on the environment. Below are three priority areas for the coming year, reflecting our commitment to continuous improvement across the business.
Emissions reporting and performance
Our approach to environmental performance is grounded in reliable data, recognised standards and consistent management practices. We measure and report greenhouse gas emissions using recognised global standards. This reflects our commitment to integrity, consistency and credible reporting.
Our environmental management is underpinned by certification to ISO 14001 in our largest regional offices, with the same environmental management system applied across all other locations. This ensures a consistent approach to identifying impacts, managing risk, and driving improvement, regardless of scale or geography.
We also engage in annual external reporting through platforms such as CDP and EcoVadis to benchmark performance, strengthen accountability, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Together, these practices show a clear commitment to responsible growth, continuous improvement and transparency, reflecting how Linesight applies its values in practice, as environmental expectations continue to evolve.

Science based targets initiative
During the reporting year, our near-term emissions reduction targets were approved by the Science Based Targets initiative. This approval reflects alignment with a science-based methodology and credible pathways consistent with a 1.5°C trajectory. Our targets commit us to reduce absolute scope one and scope two emissions by 42% by 2030 from a 2023 base year, and to engage suppliers representing 82% of emissions from purchased goods and services, capital goods, and business travel to set science-based targets by 2030. A detailed roadmap is provided below.
Emissions table
The table below presents Linesight’s greenhouse gas emissions by scope and category for the reporting years shown, calculated using the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, pending final assurance to ISO 14064-3, and aligned with our Science Based Targets initiative commitments. From 2024 to 2025, we reduce total emissions (mtCO2e) in Scope 3 Category 6 (Business travel) and Scope 3 Category 1 (Purchased goods and services), as well as reduced our overall emissions per employee (mtCO2e/employee) by 9.3%.
Renewable energy and operational energy use
Because Linesight operates from leased offices with relatively low energy use, renewable energy certificates remain the most effective approach to addressing scope two emissions. Since 2024, we have covered 100% of our electricity use with renewable energy certificates and plan to continue this approach. We work closely with suppliers to procure high-quality certifications in the same market wherever possible, prioritising integrity and environmental value.
Business travel
Business travel represents a significant portion of our emissions. During the reporting year, we expanded access to a new travel booking platform across all regions to improve data accuracy and enable future controls. This platform supports distance-based emissions tracking and lays the foundation for informed reduction efforts over time.
Purchased goods, services and capital goods
We continue to strengthen governance over purchased goods and services through dedicated indirect procurement capability. Environmental criteria are being integrated into supplier selection, onboarding, and engagement processes, supporting improved data quality and alignment with our emissions reduction goals.
Capital goods account for a smaller proportion of our footprint and relate primarily to IT equipment used across the organisation. While this impact is more limited, we apply controls to support informed purchasing decisions and the responsible reuse or recycling of equipment at the end of its useful life, reinforcing our commitment to responsible resource use and continuous improvement.
Continuous improvement and engagement
Environmental improvement is an ongoing journey. We continue to expand sustainability education for employees, making training and resources easier to access through our ‘Operations Hub’. We work closely with clients to understand their environmental targets and emerging trends, ensuring our services continue to support a changing regulatory and market landscape. While we do not yet have a net zero target, our science-based targets are aligned to a 1.5°C pathway in the near term. This pathway reflects the level of emissions reduction needed globally to limit the most severe impacts of climate change and provides an important reference point for our approach. Alignment with the 1.5°C pathway represents a meaningful step in our journey and helps prepare the organisation for a future transition towards net zero.
